SOPHISTICATED REFINED SIMPLICITY
Flip Dot displays are tactile, mechanical and binary. They present a visceral interaction of sound and motion.
The display uses the changing polarity of magnets to flip disks in two sizes, 0.35” (8.9mm) or 0.53” (13.5mm) diameters in a module of 7 or 14 dots high by 28 dots wide. The modules can be stacked together for whatever display size is required.
Custom matrix are available on request.
Robust, reliable and low power consumption. With no mechanical parts, flip dots are wear, shock and vibration resistant. Power is only required to change the state of the disk, therefore if power is lost, the display will remain in its final state, unlike LED or monitors, the message will still be seen.The standard colour of the dots is black and white. However, they can be ordered in a myriad of colours and finishes including chrome, gold mirror and fluorescent. As the dots don’t transmit light, external lighting can be used to enhance the experience including the mirror ball effect on the reflective finishes.

Olax can design the display system, programming and housing to fit any brief and in any environment. Programming for text, image and video presentations are standard. Video recognition / interaction, games or specialist integration can be developed on brief.

7 SEGMENT NUMERAL DISPLAY
Also available using the same magnetic technology, is a 7 segment numeral display. Measuring 42.5mm high, 27mm wide with a 27mm cap height, this unit can be stacked to create any size display with the same flip dot tactile character.
